I am a Leverhulme Early Career Fellow in the the School of Information, Journalism and Communication at the University of Sheffield. My research applies corpus linguistics and discourse analysis methods to investigate authoritarian communication, disinformation and information manipulation.
I hold a PhD in Corpus Linguistics from the University of Leeds, where my thesis focused on the computational analysis of morphosyntactic categories in Georgian. Prior to my doctoral research at Leeds, I completed a PhD in Philology: Language and Lexicography, an MA in Lexicography, and a BA in English Language and Literature from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.

My major specialism is Corpus Linguistics. Specifically, my research interests include corpus design and construction, morphosyntactic annotation (part-of-speech tagging), corpus-based lexicography, discourse analysis, the methodology of corpus linguistics, and the application of corpus methods in the humanities and social sciences. Currently, I am researching language relating to authoritarian communication and disinformation and the use of language in information manipulation.
