Dr Pablo Morales

I am a University Teacher in International Communication at the University of Sheffield. My research and teaching focus on global media flows, international journalism practices, public diplomacy, and media globalisation.

Before transitioning into academia, I worked as a journalist and translator in Beijing for China Radio International and People’s Daily Online, later contributing to news outlets like BBC Chinese, Al Jazeera and Iran International. I hold a PhD in Media Studies from the University of Westminster (UK) and an MLitt in Journalism from Zhejiang University (China).

Prior to joining Sheffield, I held a UKRI Postdoctoral Fellowship and LSE Fellowship at the London School of Economics, leading the CICLA project on China’s communication strategies in Latin America. I have also taught undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at the University of Leeds, LSE, University of the Arts London, and Huanghuai University in China.
