These awards recognise the very best journalism produced by students and trainees on NCTJ courses across the UK. And the winners were:
Adam Husicka: Best Video Journalism for his piece on Sexism and Misogyny in Spain. (This is the second year in a row this award has been won by a student from the University of Sheffield).
Sidelines Magazine Team (Gus Ballentine, Cerys Jones, Amelia Cox, Angel Sang, Amy Hamerslagh and James Morgan-Wynn): Best Group Project for their sports brand and work on Yvonne Illsley's magazine module.
Professor Lisa Bradley: The Chair's Award. This was a special award given by the accreditation body at the ceremony to celebrate someone who has made an outstanding contribution to Journalism teaching. Prof Lisa Bradley won the award for her pioneering work inside and out of the classroom.
Two University of Sheffield-produced podcasts by Jack Dean and Maddi Fearn & Cassidy Chan were also given highly commended and commended in the best podcast awards category.
Each of the nominees will have a chance to visit Reuters news agency in London.
