When you're leaving US

When you are leaving the Fly Facility, or the University as a whole, there are some things you must do first.

As you prepare to leave, we ask you to please fill out the Fly Facility Leaving checklist, once completed please get this checked by another individual, eg. your PI, and then return the completed form to Kath Whitley in either printed or electronic form.

Fly Facility Leaving Checklist

Please ensure your Drosophila stocks are labelled correctly and your Principal Investigator has an electronic copy of the genotypes before you leave the fly facility/University.  These can then be disposed of, or put into stock collections as appropriate.

If you have any personal belongings please remove these from the lab.

Please liaise with your Principal Investigator to ensure any items in the fridge, incubators, cold room or controlled temperature rooms are disposed of or if they can be used by other researchers.

If you are a Principal Investigator leaving the Fly Facility, please liaise with Kath to discuss which items you will be taking and which will remain in the facility.  We can then come up with a plan for moving items and disposing of unwanted Drosophila stocks.
