About the Knowledge Systems and Practices research cluster

Our research cluster undertakes conceptual, empirical, policy and interdisciplinary research, nationally and internationally.

Off

It is distinctive in its combination of social science and humanities approaches towards knowledge produced and exchanged within established, knowledge-forming institutions as well as hybrid and diverse social spaces.

We develop advanced scholarship, innovative research and reflexive perspectives on knowledge, whether generated and practised within educational systems, or produced and enacted via material lived realities.

We study knowledge systems and practices at the intersections of institutions and the public, research and pedagogy, science and politics whilst exploring the potentialities offered by theory fiction and creative-critical scholarship.

We understand knowledge to be made in society and in culture and recognise the empowering but also exclusionary impacts of knowledge systems and knowledge-making practices.
