International survey of Maternal Journal practitioners launches

As part of Dr Jessica Bradley's ongoing collaboration with Maternal Journal, the team are launching a survey to help scope the breadth and depth of similar creative projects that support mothers and birthing parents around the world.

Jessica has been researching creative journaling in the context of participatory arts and health practice since the start of 2022, working in collaboration with Diane Saxon at The Art House, Maternal Journal founder Laura Godfrey-Isaacs and with practitioners including Sally Golightly.

They have recently worked with Ed Cartledge Sort Of...Films to create a film about the work, also linking to the Maternal Journal podcast project. In making the film, the team discussed the need to find out more about the breadth and depth of practice around the world and how practitioners are drawing on collective creative practice to support mothers and birthing parents during the perinatal period.

Jessica was fortunate to work with a great team of researchers at the University of Sheffield - Julia Bishop, Cath Bannister and Diane Saxon - alongside Laura Godfrey-Isaacs and Sally Golightly to design a survey to capture this rich and diverse practice.

You can find the link to the survey and more information on this webpage, please share with your networks.
