Description

What's on offer?

An interactive event providing opportunities for research conversations through activities designed to support critical reflection on the multiple encounters with research experienced in everyday life. An animation, artwork and resources from research will be used to stimulate small group discussion.
What's it about?

There is a vast range of research available that can play an important role in developing inclusive and empowering educational provision which challenges inequalities and ensures children are equipped for their current and future lives. It can be difficult to locate and evaluate different kinds of research and make connections between research and practice that enhance professional decision making. In this session, we provide a space for teachers and other education practitioners to develop understandings of how educational research moves, reflect on encounters with research and share strategies for finding, sharing, engaging critically and responding to research.

Who's leading the event?

Dr Gill Adams (Sheffield Hallam University), Eleanor Hotham (SHU), Daisy Johnson (Athelstan Primary School), Dr Jemma Monkhouse (SHU), Joanne Munday (Sir Thomas Wharton Academy) & Dr David Shannon (University of Sheffield)
