In order to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day, so that the Sheffield Confucius Institute's Young Learners could learn more about their Chinese heritage, even in a foreign country; the Children's Department of the Confucius Institute organised a two-week "Mid-Autumn Festival" themed activity from October 1st 2020.
During the weekend classes at our Star Mandarin School, teachers introduced Mid-Autumn Festival traditions & customs, storytelling, festival themed quizzes and other activities into the classroom.
They vividly demonstrated the Mid-Autumn Festival tradition to the children and introduced them to a fascinating part of Chinese culture.
The "Mid-Autumn Festival" themed activities organized by the Confucius Institute received positive responses from students and strong support from the parents.
Among the many works received, there were some wonderful pieces, in particular, classmates Chen Shuxin and Li Kaiyuan described the legends of the Mid-Autumn Festival with affection and interest.
Students Guan Hongming, Luo Enquan and Chen Xiangen recorded how they and their families celebrated Mid-Autumn Festival which was compelling for both their classmates and the children's parents.
Four students such as Wu Xuanlong, Zhang Yuchen, Yu Zijing, and Li Zixin from another class at the Star Mandarin School used what they learned in their textbooks and wrote letters to their relatives and friends to send Autumnal thoughts and wishes.
In addition to the the pieces of writing that students penned, students also used paintings, poems, handicrafts, videos and other forms to present their Mid-Autumn Festival blessings.
Let's take a look at the excellent works of the students celebrating Mid-Autumn Festival!
