After the success of our first fundraiser of the year back in February 2020 and as COVID-19 spread across the UK, we felt it only right to set up a second fundraiser, this time in collaboration with UKAPCE (UK Association for the Promotion of Chinese Education).
This time, all donations raised were donated directly to the NHS, both through the Department of Health and directly to Sheffield Hospitals Charity. This will help recognise the truly outstanding work that NHS staff are providing to help keep us all safe through this difficult time.
We set an ambitious target of £3,000 and we are delighted to say that we have far surpassed this target through a combination of donations to our JustGiving page and the immense generosity of our Saturday school, the Star Mandarin School.
We have since passed all contributions received from staff, teachers and parents at the Star Mandarin School onto the UKAPCE, which was then combined with other donations and presented to Public Health England on 15 April. Separately, the money raised through our JustGiving page was donated to the Sheffield Hospitals Charity, a charity that last year invested £2.5 million across hospitals in Sheffield.
In total, we have raised an outstanding amount through various fundraisers and it is fantastic to know that all the money raised will help the NHS in their battle against this pandemic and lead Britain out of the pandemic as soon as possible.
We want to thank all of the public for their incredible generosity and wish you all well in these challenging times.
