Fellowship opportunities
We are keen to support early career researchers in applying for independent research fellowships (IRFs) to join our friendly and collaborative environment, in areas related to developmental biology, stem cells and regenerative biology, and neuroscience.  We are particularly interested in hearing from researchers working with stem-cell-derived organoids and other in vitro or in vivo models of organ development, with interests in mechanobiology, morphogenesis, tissue patterning, disease mechanisms, sensory systems, central processing or tissue regeneration.

  • We offer long-term IRFs an academic position after their Fellowship
  • We support all long-term IRFs with a PhD student to kick-start their research
  • All IRFs are mentored during their application, during their fellowship and after progressing to a permanent position
  • All IRFs join our independent College of Fellows, giving them a strong and collective voice.

See the School’s Fellowship page for more information about the application process.

Informal enquiries can also be directed to Emily Noël (e.s.noel@sheffield.ac.uk, DRN research cluster lead).
