Research interests

My current research explores the social impacts of transnational organized crime, criminal governance, and state violence in the Amazon region. I focus particularly on how illicit networks affect vulnerable demographics, examining the distinct pressures, recruitment dynamics, and security challenges faced by local populations, youth, and women. My work also investigates broader patterns of organized crime expansion, hybrid governance regimes, and peacebuilding strategies across Latin America.
