SPERI is an excellent place for scholars to launch and develop their academic careers; it provides a vibrant and collegial intellectual environment, opportunities for mentorship and collaboration, and unique support for policy and public engagement. We welcome enquiries from researchers interested in working and studying with us.

- Prospective postdoctoral researchers

SPERI is open to supporting postdoctoral project applications. In particular, we are keen to support Leverhulme Early Career Fellowship and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship applications. The next call closes on 20 February 2025.

- Established scholars

SPERI can host established scholars during sabbatical and can sponsor grant applications for visiting academics. In particular, we are keen to support British Academy Visiting Fellowships. The current call closes on 23 October 2024.
We are also keen to support applications for Leverhulme Visiting Professorships. Visits may last for between 3 and 12 months, and tenures of 6 months or more can be spread over 2 or more visits. The next round closes on 3 October 2024, and the following round closes on 1 May 2025.
