The event featured a range of speakers, including representatives from Innovate UK, industry partners, and our own academic community.
The day kicked off with a warm welcome from Professor Ashutosh Tiwari, Deputy Vice-President for Innovation. Richard Lamb from Innovate UK then provided an overview of KTPs, explaining how these partnerships can benefit both academic institutions and businesses.
Saq Rasul, Head of the Partnerships & Knowledge Exchange Service offered valuable insights into the management and oversight of KTPs and internal support available to researchers interested in participating in KTP projects.
The afternoon session featured presentations from Professor Ashutosh Tiwari and Professor Anthony Glass from our Sheffield University Management School. They shared their perspectives on the academic side of KTPs and highlighted the benefits for both researchers and students.
Faraday, an external partner, provided valuable insights into their experiences with KTPs, emphasising the positive impact these collaborations can have on business innovation.
The day concluded with an opportunity to meet with faculty KE support teams to answer any further questions and discuss ideas for potential collaborations.
Overall, the KTP day was a great success. It provided staff with a valuable opportunity to learn about KTPs and gain a better understanding of how these collaborations can contribute to research excellence and innovation.
