Pepper
Pepper is a socially interactive humanoid robot. capable of identifying emotions such as joy, sadness, anger and surprise. Pepper has 4 directional microphones, one 3D and two HD cameras in it’s head, in order to interface with human users, and is connected wirelessly to the internet. An inbuilt tablet as shown can be used by Pepper to express its emotions and help the user to make choices. These input methods are used by Pepper to adapt its behaviours according to the emotions of the user.
Pepper also uses an anti-collision system to detect people and objects; lithium battery with a 12-hour run time; high resolution cameras; ultrasound transmitters; laser sensors and loudspeakers. It has a maximum speed of 3km/h and is equipped with 20 engines to control the head, back and arm movements.
