Professor Sarah Whitehouse, a Professor of Pure Mathematics in the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences, has been re-elected to the Council of the London Mathematical Society (LMS) for a further two years.
The LMS is the UK’s learned society for mathematics, focused on advancing and promoting mathematical knowledge nationally and internationally. Its activities include funding research, supporting early career development, publishing academic journals, organising lectures and events, and engaging with policy makers. Council members are trustees of the society and provide strategic direction.
Professor Whitehouse’s continued role on the LMS Council reflects her ongoing contributions to the mathematics community.
I am very pleased to be re-elected to LMS Council and hope to continue to make an effective and positive contribution to the vital work of the LMS in supporting the mathematics community.
