Find out what you can expect to be doing during Welcome Week which begins on 23 September 2024.

We're excited to welcome you to the Management School on 23 September for Welcome Week! This week is your chance to get to know the School, the University and the city. There will be lots going on throughout the week across campus, but we really encourage you to attend all the events we are hosting in the Management School.

You'll find full details of your timetabled activities in iSheffield, which you can download via the Apple App Store or Google Play Store or access via a web browser

However, you can get a flavour of some of the activities you'll be getting up to below.

Programme specific activities

Business Management (including duals)

Monday 23 September, 10am - 12pm

Programme Welcome Talk with Gabriella Cioce, your Year Tutor, and your Programme Administrator, who will introduce you to the course.

Tuesday 24 September (you will be assigned to a group, check your timetable in iSheffield for details of your session)

Your wellbeing session will provide you with all you need to know about how to find support should you need it and how to look after your own wellbeing during your studies. 

Tuesday 24 September, 11am - 2pm

Meet your Student and Programme Support team. This is an opportunity for you to drop-in (no appointments needed) and meet your programme administrator and ask any questions you might have.

Wednesday 25 September, 10am-12pm/12pm - 2pm/2pm - 4pm (you will be assigned to a group, check your timetable in iSheffield for details of your session)

Race Equality and Consent training, designed to help you understand your role in helping our campus remain a safe and inclusive space.

Accounting and Financial Management (including duals)

Monday 23 September, 1pm - 3pm

Activities open to all

Throughout your studies you will be invited to attend our Balance and Belonging events. These are exclusively for Management School students, completely free, and include many exciting activities and opportunities.

During each day, we'll be hosting different events to give you a taster of some of our regular Balance and Belonging events, designed to support your wellbeing and give you a space to relax and take a break from your studies.

Day Time Activity What to expect
Monday 23 September 11am - 2pm Welcome Fête We're really looking forward to seeing you at our Welcome Fete! There will be giant games and board games to play, as well as hot dogs, snacks, mug painting and VR gaming - all designed to help you settle in, have fun with your new course mates and to give you that energy boost in amongst the busy week.
Tuesday 24 September 11am - 2pm Sheffield Support Dogs This is a relaxed environment where you can hear about the work of the Sheffield Support Dogs charity and meet the adorable dogs. 
Wednesday 25 September 10am - 2pm Management School Community Fair Drop by our community fair to find out about all the different societies and schemes you can get involved with during your time here. We'll be joined by societies such as the Women in Business Society, Investment Society and Enactus, and teams such as Green Impact, Student reps and the Employability hub. You can also find out about paid work opportunities in the Management School.

Sheffield Support Dogs

Afternoon Tea

Another chance to meet the friendly, adorable dogs from Support Dogs Sheffield.

Bring along your freshly painted mugs from earlier in the week and join us for tea and scones, games and crafts - what a lovely way to spend an afternoon! 

Friday 27 September 10am - 3pm Graphic Novel Reading Room With over 200 graphic novels to choose from, this is the perfect opportunity to try something new and maybe find a new hobby. Come along to the Courtyard Cafe in the Management School for some time to chill out amongst the busyness of Intro Week, and enjoy some free refreshments. There is no formal discussion of any kind, and you're welcome to come alone or come with others.
