A friend of mine completed her study abroad programme at the University of Sheffield and spoke highly of her experience, describing it as academically rigorous, supportive, and culturally enriching. She told me it was exactly the kind of environment I would excel in and she was absolutely right.

I chose to study at the University of Sheffield because it is one of the few universities that offers both Logistics and Supply Chain Management within a single degree programme, which was my main concern. The university’s academic excellence and reputation being represented in the top 100 universities globally by QS ranking and its membership in the Russell Group, further reinforced my decision. Having done my bachelors degree at a Triple Crown Accreditation university, the University of Sheffield upholding the same standard stood out to me. Additionally, Sheffield being a vibrant yet less crowded city appealed to me. Choosing to study here has been one of the best decisions I have made, and I have not regretted it!

What have you enjoyed most about your course so far?

I have genuinely enjoyed the real life examples used in the course modules, especially our visit to the B&Q warehouse. This was extremely insightful and I had a great time soaking it all in. It was very informative and enriching as we got to see first hand how automation, distribution processes and time sensitive operations work in a warehouse setting.

What skills and knowledge have you developed during your course?

I would say my presentation skills have strengthened and I definitely feel more confident when speaking in front of an audience. I believe I have also learned how to evaluate scenarios and cases critically. Working together with my fellow students has also enhanced my teamwork skills.

What are your future career aspirations, and how do you think this degree will help you achieve these?

My long term career aspiration is to land a senior role as the Chief Operations Officer of a reputable company and this degree has given me insight to seeing the world of logistics from the lens of professionals. I have gained a strong understanding of strategic supply chain management, inventory management, logistics systems, sustainability supply chain management amongst many other great topics. This degree will have provided me with the theoretical expertise and skills needed to develop a successful career in this field.
