Laura is a practising Occupational Psychologist and is a Chartered Psychologist registered with the HCPC. She is also a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
She is the President Elect of the British Psychological Society.
Her career has involved substantial experience in developing employability, career counselling, selection and assessment and training and development.
She lectures on a range of university programme at undergraduate and postgraduate level including Occupational Psychology, MBA and Human Resource Management.

My research interests are broad but have a couple of underlying themes: equality and fairness and; employee well-being. I am particularly interested in:
- Psychological contract breach;
- Wellbeing and employability of neurodiverse individuals;
- Career management interventions;
- Employability and;
- Training and development interventions.

Currently I am module leader for the undergraduate module MGT243 Career Theory and Practice as well as the post graduate modules MGT6166 Selection Theory and Practice and MGT658 Professional Practice.
I teach across a range of other modules in training and development, leadership and career management.
I primarily supervise students on the MSc Occupational Psychology and MSc Human Resource Management programmes for dissertation.
