Join the entire Sheffield University Management School community in congratulating Professor Pauline Dibben on being elected a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences.
Fellows are elected based on their outstanding contributions to research and the application of their scholarship to society. Professor Dibben’s work concentrates on employment relations and has led to improved labour security for people with disabilities and long term health conditions.
The Academy of Social Sciences is the national academy of academics, learned societies and practitioners in the social sciences. Its mission is to promote social science in the United Kingdom for public benefit. Academy Fellows are leading professional social scientists from academia and the public and private sectors.
Professor Dibben said: “I’m extremely happy to receive this honour and would like to acknowledge the encouragement and support of my colleagues, friends and family. In the current uncertainty of a global pandemic, we need to continue to speak out for those who might be most vulnerable to losing their livelihoods.”
Professor Rachael Finn, Interim Dean of Sheffield University Management School, added: “This is wonderful news and richly deserved for Pauline as an outstanding social scientist. This achievement highlights the transformative power research plays in improving peoples’ lives and advances our School’s mission to promote socially-responsible work practices and have a positive impact on organisations and society throughout the world.”
