Leadership and community impact

Roksolana’s dedication to making a difference is truly inspiring. As Founder and President of the Ukrainian Society, she built and provided a vital support network and place of comfort for students in a time of great uncertainty. Under Roksolana’s leadership, the society raised £8,000 and was awarded both ‘Best New Society’ and ‘Best Cultural/National Society.’

Her leadership extended to organising a commemorative conference to mark the anniversary of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, and spearheading a nationwide Secret Santa initiative in collaboration with 22 other Ukrainian societies across UK universities. Furthermore, Roksolana has helped organise and deliver summer camps for children in Ukraine and served as a committed Academic Representative, providing academic and social guidance to her peers.

A professional outlook

Roksolana demonstrated her professional skills and approach during her placement year at BMW, where she took the lead on developing a new KPI reporting system, as well as proactively improving the company’s internal news channels. Roksolana also completed a marketing Internship at the Sheffield SME, Entrepreneurs Business Club, and participated in an intensive ‘Business Idea BootCamp’ leadership series.

Skills development

Roksolana has been dedicated to developing her professional and employability skills, actively participating in initiatives including the eMentoring programme, City Connections and Coach Cafe, to gain valuable insight from alumni and build her networking skills. Her strong teamwork proved successful during the University Business Challenge, where her team placed an impressive 3rd overall in the competition.
