Ling Min graduated from the University of Sheffield with a Master degree (MEng) in Mechanical Engineering in 2016, then subsequently joined the Resources, Infrastructure Systems, and built Environments (RISE) Research Group in the Department Civil and Structural Engineering to pursue her PhD research. She have been awarded a full PhD scholarship from the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures and completed her PhD degree in November 2020.
Ling Min's PhD work focuses on understanding and formulation of the effects of city economic and energetic characteristics on their resource consumption. Her past research activity involves coordinating stakeholder engagement and collaborating with the local and regional governing authorities across the South Yorkshire region to develop a regional emissions budgeting framework aiming to address the regional needs in decarbonisation in order to meet our net zero goals. She is experienced in working across disciplines to evaluate and implement best suitable techniques and methodologies to decarbonise urban material stocks in delivering a sustainable built environment.
Ling Min is currently working on the BuildZero Project for transforming the UK’s buildings for zero material extraction, zero carbon & zero waste. Her role involves developing a network model for analysing the spatial logistics of Circular Economy and assessing the carbon impact associated with storage and transportation of reusable construction materials.
