Description
This module aims to consolidate and further develop students' receptive, productive, and translation skills in Korean at the upper-intermediate level, building on the knowledge acquired at Level 2 and during the Year Abroad. It serves as a transition from teacher-centred learning at lower levels to the more autonomous and self-directed learning expected at advanced stages. Students will enhance their ability to read and write more advanced Korean texts and to communicate using a wider range of grammar and expressions. Translation skills will be strengthened through work with various authentic materials. Skills for approaching unfamiliar texts will also be developed, while advanced grammar is consolidated and expanded. Throughout the module, students will engage in critical discussions on contemporary Korean society and culture and will work on identifying and developing their employability skills. By the end of the module, students are expected to reach a proficiency level roughly equivalent to TOPIK Intermediate High (Level 4) or CEFR B2.

- Translate advanced Korean texts into good English under time constraints.
- Accurately identify and present the key information and arguments from advanced Korean texts.
- Produce appropriately judged formal written correspondence in Korean.
- Present themselves in interview situations and give opinions using culturally and socially appropriate language and behaviours.
