Insigneo PPIE Workshop with Grace Edwards, NIHR BRC & CRF PPIE Officer

Please join us for the Insigneo and NIHR Sheffield Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) Imaging and Engineering (ImEng) Theme Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) Workshop on 6 March 2025, 9.30 am until 11 am, at Regent Court.

The workshop is based around the NIHR Sheffield BRC ImEng Theme but it is open to all Insigneo members.

Please be aware that this is an in-person event only.

Grace Edwards, NIHR BRC & CRF PPIE Officer will speak about the principles of PPIE, how to approach community groups and the BRC support offer available.

After the presentation, Grace will open the workshop to discussions around your specific work, so please bring with you any barriers, challenges and or concerns around PPIE in your work to get the most out of the session.

The more questions and queries the better! (Anything that cannot be answered or signposted to in the session, Grace will be in touch about afterwards as she has the relevant contacts).

Grace has been part of the BRC & CRF teams for over a year now and is passionate about enabling access to research for everyone and engaging patients and members of the public in local research and their own health journeys. She has previous experience of project management in the NHS and engagement experience from working in the voluntary sector previous to that. Since being in post here she has provided training for Theme Leads, PIs and ECRs alike (tailoring materials where needed), sat on discussion panels, presented to GPs and carried out community outreach locally to build on community contacts.
