Dental problems
UHS cannot treat dental problems, but this information below explains how you can find help.
Dental emergencies
Contact your regular dentist or call NHS 111 for urgent dental issues.
You may also be able to receive urgent dental care from a student at Charles Clifford Dental Hospital (CCDH). Phone 0114 271 7800 or attend the hospital in person. The service runs Monday to Friday between 9am to 11am, and between 2pm to 3pm. Go to the first-floor reception where you will be asked some triage questions.
Find a dentist
Use the NHS website to find local dentists in your area:
Charles Clifford Dental Hospital (CCDH)
The CCDH is currently accepting new adult patients to receive routine dental care from undergraduate students.
Patients must be available Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, and not under treatment with another dentist.
Patients interested in receiving their dental treatment from undergraduate students should call 0114 271 7800 and a screening appointment will be arranged.
This screening appointment will assess suitability for treatment with undergraduates. Only patients who meet certain eligibility criteria will be accepted for treatment.
Read the CCDH - New Patient Registration Form for further information.
