Jana's role at the Grantham Centre involves managing the Sustainability Leaders Training Programme for PhD students (Grantham Scholars), organising the Centre's events and various administrative duties. She is also the Co-Chair of the University of Sheffield Parents Network.
Jana's background is in visual arts and film marketing - she holds a Master’s Degree in Arts Management. In the past she worked for a cinema, an ethnographic museum and a contemporary art gallery. She is passionate about climate change issues and she is eager to expand her knowledge about sustainability through her work at the Grantham Centre, helping create a better future for all of us.
Jana led a Green Impact project SHEFF-Yield in 2020 - 2022 that encouraged people in Sheffield to grow their own food. In March 2023, she got awarded the University of Sheffield’s Erasmus+ staff mobility funding and spent a week at CEMUS, Uppsala University, Sweden. During this experience she gained a valuable insight into how a different university sustainability centre operates.
Jana was recently also a member of the Task & Finish group who researched and wrote a report to inform the new University of Sheffield sustainability strategy for 2026-2030 in the strategic area of Food. The report focuses on the procurement, sale and consumption of food across the University campus and student residences.
