Proposed sessions

1. Strategic insights & the global outlook

  • The UK mobility landscape & the future of exchange:  We’ll discuss the Turing Scheme or Erasmus+ equivalents, and offer a chance for discussion with partners on how they are navigating regional shifts. We'll also discuss what comes next for international education in a changing geopolitical climate.
  • Wider international partnership activity: An overview of our global footprint beyond student exchange, focusing on research collaborations and institutional scaling.

2. Operational excellence & best practice

  • Making the most of shared resources: How can we better use the digital tools, marketing assets and student networks already at our fingertips to boost engagement without increasing budget?
  • The Sheffield International Summer School: We’ll share the roadmap of how we built the programme and host a roundtable for partners to share their own summer school successes and hurdles.
  • Global safety net: A proactive workshop on managing emergencies overseas, ensuring we have seamless communication during crises.

3. The Sheffield soul (tours & student input)

  • The power of the student voice: Hear from our Student Ambassadors and Students' Union Officers about the student support that inbound exchange students can benefit from at Sheffield.
  • Jewel in the crown: Take a tour of the Diamond, home to the UK's first maker space and head to the iForge to experience our 'maker' culture in action.
  • Living the steel city: An optional tour of Allen Court (high-quality city-living accommodation) and a walk through the Heartspace.

Please note that sessions are subject to confirmation and delegate demand.
