The University of Sheffield is a diverse university that is friendly to international students
Which course did you study?
BA Urban Studies and Planning
Why did you choose to study in the School of Geography and Planning at the University of Sheffield?
As the only course of its kind in the UK to offer triple professional accreditation, this programme brings a range of planning-related modules, which is why I chose to study at USP.
What is your most memorable thing from Sheffield?
Sheffield is a lovely city and very friendly to students. I was interested in coffee so I visited almost all the cafés in Sheffield. I am sure I will miss the cafés and the friendly locals when I leave Sheffield.
Can you talk about your SURE (Sheffield Undergraduate Research Experience) project?
During the summer of 2020 I was fortunate enough to be involved in the SURE project, which was a great research opportunity. Throughout the research project I was able to focus on public space design in a post-pandemic context and I met weekly with my supervisor, Dr Ally Lu, to discuss the progress of the project. In the end my poster won the award for Highly Commended Dissemination.
Where is your next study journey?
I will continue my masters study in smart cities.
What would be your advice to other international students considering studying in Sheffield?
The University of Sheffield is a diverse university that is friendly to international students. In particular, USP offers a range of opportunities and support for students, such as research projects, internships and welfare services. When faced with difficulties, it is a good idea to seek help from tutors and student representatives.
