Environmental Science student wins Global Undergraduate Award for Earth and Environmental Sciences

BSc Environmental Science student Josh Hurdiss has recently been awarded the Global Undergraduate Award for Earth and Environmental Sciences.

Josh Hurdiss

The award is in recognition of the research undertaken for his undergraduate dissertation, entitled "Comparison of variation of topsoil quality indicators in a long-term regenerative management strategy in the North Cotswolds, Gloucestershire, UK", supervised by Dr Manoj Menon.

The project was inspired by Josh’s own upbringing in the Cotswolds. He explored opportunities for transitioning towards sustainable agricultural practices aimed at regenerating topsoils.

The Global Undergraduate Awards is the world’s leading undergraduate awards programme which recognises top undergraduate work, shares this work with a global audience and connects students across cultures and disciplines.

Josh currently holds a graduate role at Greengage Environmental, where he pursues his passion for environmental sustainability by working on advancing net-zero initiatives and biodiversity net gain.
