Profile

Francisco received his M.Sc. degree in Advanced Control and Systems Engineering from the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom, in 2019. and his Ph.D. degree in the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the same University, in 2025. Francisco was a member of the research NEO team at INRIA, France, from 2021 to 2025. Francisco's research interests include information theory, statistical learning, and machine learning.

Research interests

Francisco's research focuses on understanding the implications of the use of incomplete information in PAC learning. The surge of applications in which machine learning (ML) provides the technological backbone has propelled the technology to the forefront of research. By analyzing the impact of incomplete information, Francisco's research aims to deepen our understanding of the fundamental limits of attainable generalization via regularization in supervised learning settings.
