Dr Hassan Osman

Hassan is a RAEng Visiting Professor hosted by the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at the University of Sheffield, RAEng Visiting Professors are experienced industrial engineers and entrepreneurs who through the Visiting Professors (VP) scheme, participate in curriculum development and the development of innovative approaches to engineering teaching and learning.

Hassan is currently a Configuration Manager at Real Wireless, he is a Senior WirelessTechnology Expert with deep knowledge of software development and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms and techniques applied to Advanced Wireless Communication Systems.

Throughout his career Hassan has successfully managed complex projects including technical simulations and cost modelling of 5G, B5G/6G, Wi-Fi, LTE-LAA, Satellite Communications and LTE networks that extends in the domain of Artificial Intelligence. This includes simulation work that contributed to 3GPP standardisation activities.

Hassan has cultivated deep expertise at the intersection of ML techniques and Physical Layer (PHY) innovations, staying closely aligned with the latest developments in the Wireless Communications industry, particularly within 3GPP standardisation efforts.

Hassan has published over 25 papers in journals, magazines and conferences, he has also filed one patent and he is the editor of several public reports. He is a confident public speaker at Industry and Telecom events on a national and international levels.
