We are now accepting applications for our Insight Day at the School of Clinical Dentistry, which takes place on Thursday 18 July 2024.

The day will run from 10am to 3pm at the School of Clinical Dentistry, and will give students a taste of what life is like on our BDS Dental Surgery course. The event is set to include:

  • A tooth morphology lecture delivered by Professor Chris Stokes, Professor of Digital Learning and Dental Education
  • A tour and taster of our Virtual Reality Simulation Suite
  • And a personal statement and interview skills workshop

As well as introducing you to the university and dentistry, attendance on the day will also be accepted as sufficient work experience for an application to the University of Sheffield.

Students who are interested in applying should email accessdental@sheffield.ac.uk with a short personal statement, their CV and a teacher reference.

Applications will be received on a rolling basis and we will mail-out to applicants regarding upcoming Insight Days as they are scheduled.

Entry requirements

  • Applicants should meet our Widening Participation criteria. More information of these entry requirements can be found here.
  • We can accept applications from Y11s, Y12s and Y13s (under 18s will need their parent/guardians to complete a consent form, which will be sent following application)
