I obtained my BSc (2008) in theoretical physics from Lanzhou University, China, and MRes (2011) in chemical biology from the University of Liverpool, UK. I started my PhD at CIC BiomaGUNE, Spain in 2012, where I aimed to understand the physical principles underlying the mechanical properties of hyaluronan-rich extracellular matrices. After the completion of my PhD in 2016, I moved to the University of Sheffield for a postdoc position in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, where I was heavily committed to the studies of the mechanical architectures of both complex tissue (breast cancer metastasis in bone microenvironment) and supramolecular composite (cell wall of S. Aureus). In April 2023, I joined the Department of Materials Science and Engineering as an Experimental Officer, where I'm actively supporting academic/industrial research projects by providing expert guidance, experimental services and training using atomic force microscopy and nanoindentation.
