Profile

A graduate in electronic, control & systems engineering, I spent fourteen years in heavy manufacturing (chemical, steel, & automotive) with ten years in the design, build, and commissioning of large integrated plants; two years in research; two year consulting in fluid power control systems. I then re-trained as a teacher spending ten years teaching A level physics, electronics and applied science, before joining the University in 2012 to lead the Foundation Year programme. During this time I also spent three years as the academic lead for Computing, Electrical, Electronic & Control laboratory work in the Diamond as part of MEE, and then four years as the academic lead on the 2nd year project week Engineer You're Hired. I am an admissions tutor for the Faculty of Engineering, have sat on the Faculty ED&I committe, and am an external examiner at Leeds University.
