Jeremy Yoder presents the latest Biosciences #Inspire lecture to celebrate Pride Month
Event details
Description
The hashtag #Inspires is truly suitable for these series as I feel very inspired now. Hearing the stories of all these people in the field I am looking to join one day was very touching. I believe we will keep on improving the inclusivity of our societies going forward!

The University of Sheffield's Biosciences departments were delighted to welcome Dr Jeremy Yoder, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology at California State University Northridge, as a recent speaker for the Biosciences #Inspire lecture series.
The Biosciences #Inspire lectures aim to champion scientists from underrepresented and minority groups in the Biosciences, and promote discussions about how to create a more inclusive working and learning environment.
This event was aimed at raising the visibility and support of LGBTIQ+ people across the Biosciences. It consisted of a talk from an invited speaker outside the University and was followed by a discussion panel with people from across the Biosciences.
Dr Yoder talked about his experiences as a member of the LGBTIQ+ community within the educational system in general and how to make scientific workplaces more welcoming.
