Profile

Aisyah holds a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia, and a Master of Architecture (M.Arch) degree from The University of Melbourne, Australia. Her academic career began as a lecturer in the Department of Architecture at Universitas Islam Indonesia in 2018. Prior to her academic career, Aisyah worked as an architect and green building consultant. She began her PhD studies in the School of Architecture at The University of Sheffield in 2022. She has also engaged in teaching activities as a Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) in the School of Architecture, Department of Urban Studies & Planning, and Department of Civil & Structural Engineering at The University of Sheffield.

Research interests

Project Title

The Impact of Urban Form and Building Design on Urban Community Solar Microgrid (UCSM) Potential

Project outline

Currently, Aisyah’s research interests focus on urban buildings and energy, as buildings and urban areas consume significant amounts of energy for their activities. Her research on urban building energy emphasises not only how energy efficiency can be achieved but also how urban buildings can function as energy generators to supply clean energy to the city. Her PhD research focuses on how urban buildings and spaces can support solar photovoltaic integration. Utilising physics-based simulations and field studies, she aims to develop a context-sensitive modelling framework to evaluate the impact of urban form and building design on community-based solar energy systems.
