A Sheffield School of Architecture and Landscape student has been awarded a prestigious scholarship in recognition of outstanding work and potential to make significant contributions in the field of architecture.

MArch student George Hadley, is one of five UK students to be awarded the RIBA Wren Insurance Association Scholarship.

The scholarships are awarded as part of an annual scheme to support students enrolled in a RIBA Part 2 professional qualification course in architecture in a UK higher education institution.

Each recipient will receive £7,500 to support the final year of their part 2 studies and may also be offered the opportunity to be mentored by one of the members of the Wren for the duration of the scholarship period.

George said: “I am incredibly grateful to RIBA and the Wren Insurance Association for this scholarship and the belief it represents. The support allows me to reach my full potential and pursue the ambitious vision I have for my thesis project. I can now explore ideas around reuse, natural materials and environmental impact in a meaningful and unrestricted way. As I enter my final year, the culmination of six years, I feel ready to be at my best.”
