Karzan is a University Teacher in Orthoptics at the University of Sheffield. He is an author of the revised Curriculum Framework for Pre-registration Orthoptic Education and Training (2023-2028).
With over a decade of clinical experience, he has a specialist interest in stroke & neuro-rehabilitation. Karzan maintains honorary clinical contracts at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital in Sheffield; and Salford Royal Hospital, Greater Manchester.
Karzan leads the Medicines Clinical Advisory Group for the British and Irish Orthoptic Society. He is actively involved in raising the standards of medicinal practice within the profession and leads the Prescribing Now campaign for independent prescribing rights for Orthoptists.
