Accommodation tours (Ranmoor and Endcliffe)

Duration: 1 hour (recommended from departing main campus to arriving back via shuttle bus)

Getting to Endcliffe

Free shuttle bus from campus

• Departs from beside the Information Commons on Favell Road, or from outside the Wave on Whitham Road
• First bus: 9.30am | Last bus: 4pm (returns to campus at 5pm)
• Allow one hour for the round trip

Free parking at Endcliffe (Stanage car park S10 3AF) 

If you're choosing the earlybird option, a free shuttle bus will run from Endcliffe to main campus at 8.45am, 9am, 9.15am and 9.30am , then roughly every 8 minutes throughout the day.

Walk

Use our online walking maps or join one of our Campus ↔ Endcliffe walking tours through the popular student neighbourhood of Broomhill.

Standard tours

• Endcliffe: depart from the Edge, Endcliffe
• Ranmoor: depart from the Ridge, Ranmoor (make your own way there directly from campus, or from Endcliffe via shuttle bus or walking tours)

Earlybird accommodation tours (8am - 9.30am) 

Pressed for time? Head directly to Endcliffe where there is free on-site parking before heading to main campus after viewing the accommodation. You can take our one-way trip back to campus with the option to leave the bus at the Wave . You can view the leaving times above.

Campus tours 

Duration: 45 mins
10am to 4pm

Collect a wristband from the campus tours stand located outside the Octagon Centre for one of our walking campus tours.

• Regular Campus Tour (departing every 30 mins) - A 45-minute walk-through of our main campus buildings. Our student ambassadors will show you some of our iconic buildings and excellent teaching spaces.
• Disability & Dyslexia Campus Tour (ask for availability) -The standard campus route, led by a Student Ambassador who has personally accessed disability support at the university.
• Insta Campus Tour (ask for availability) - Get your camera ready! We’ll take you to the very best spots on campus to capture your day in Sheffield.

Please note that Sheffield is a hilly city, and the main campus tour covers approximately one mile. If you have any mobility or accessibility requirements, please inform us when you arrive for the tour.

City tours: Campus ↔ Station

Duration: 30 mins
8:45am to 4pm

A one-way student-led walking tour of the city centre between the train station and the Information commons.

• 8:45am to 12:30pm - Tours depart every 15 minutes starting at the train station foyer and concluding at the Information commons. Last tour leaves at 12.30pm.
• 12:45 to 4pm - Tours depart every 15 minutes starting at the Information commons  and concluding at the train station. Last tour leaves at 4pm. 

Library tours

Duration: 15 mins
10am to 4pm

Meet our student ambassador tour guides at the reception of the Information Commons and Western Bank Library.

The Information Commons offers a comfy, inclusive study environment with bookable spaces, core reading books, and a Garden Room for relaxation.

Western Bank Library, a Grade II listed building, has 1.2 million texts, 730 study spaces, and serene views of Weston Park for a tranquil study experience.

Campus ↔ Endcliffe walking tours

Duration: 30 mins
9.30am to 4:30pm

A student-led walking tour between the information fair (next to the Accommodation stand) and the Edge at Endcliffe. 

This is an alternative to the shuttle bus and provides visitors with a tour of the popular student neighbourhood of Broomhill.

Tours leave every 15 minutes in both directions. 

Departing from outside the information fair:

• First departure: 9.30am
• Last departure: 3.30pm

Departing from Endcliffe: 

• First departure: 10am
• Last departure:  4.30pm 

Sport and physical activity tours​​​

​​​​​Duration: 15 mins
10am to 4pm

Meet at the Sports Hall Foyer at Goodwin Sports Centre for a tour of the site’s impressive facilities, including synthetic 3G pitches, sports hall, studio spaces, squash courts and brand new Fitness Suite. Tours leave every 15 minutes.

Students’ Union tours​​​
