Undergraduate Open Day

During an Open Day at the University of Sheffield, Project SunbYte had a chance to talk to the prospective students and show them how tracking of the Sun works. We hope many of them became interested in our project and our university.
The Technology Enhanced Learning Festival
28 June 2018
Over 300 delegates, many of whom are academic lecturers at the University, attended this event, where Team SunbYte showcased its experiment. The event was designed to help academic and teaching staff make the most of technology to enrich learning and teaching.
Pint of Science 2018

The main objective of the event was to inspire the next generation of Space Engineers, as well as the promotion of space studies in aerospace engineering courses across the country.
Team Sunbyte shared the experience of working with ESA and IET to encourage students to participate in space-related projects. The Pint of Science event was held in a local pub in Sheffield.

More outreach activities
In cooperation with Women In Engineering, we will be working alongside the organisation to inspire children in local schools to enter STEM fields of education.
In collaboration with the Student Union’s Space Society, we are running various communication initiatives to increase learning among its members, sponsors and other local astronomy groups, such as the Sheffield Astronomical Society.
We will also be participating in large-scale events such as the Sheffield Festival of Science and Engineering, Sheffield Festival of the Mind and The Mobile University.
