Mel Watson

I graduated from Sheffield Medical School in 2010. During my medical degree I undertook an intercalated research BMedSci in ScHARR looking at the effectiveness and acceptability of the paramedic practitioner role within Yorkshire Ambulance Service. After 2 years of foundation medical training I specialised in anaesthesia and critical care achieving my primary FRCA qualification. After leaving clinical practice I moved into healthcare education and worked as a resuscitation officer/trainer in the private sector where I taught a range of courses including advanced life support. I undertook my masters in public health at ScHARR in 2020/21 focussing on animal therapy as a treatment for depression for my dissertation.
