Profile

I am a PhD Student at the School of Health and Related Research-ScHARR – supervised by Aki Tsuchiya- and joined the University of Sheffield in 2018, where I hold a scholarship from the Grantham Centre for Sustainable Futures. Previously, I obtained a BSc in Biology at the Universidad Nacional Agraria La Molina- Peru and an MSc in Conservation Biology from the University of Kent. In the past fifteen years, I have been involved in several research projects related to the impact of tourism and wildlife in the Peruvian Amazon, and with non-governmental organisations on capacity building and governance for the conservation of natural resources. Likewise, I also worked as an environmental consultant and geographic information systems (GIS) analyst for an environmental consultancy company in Lima-Peru.

Research interests

My PhD project focuses on understanding the interlinkages between policy and intervention outcomes designed to address four Sustainable Development Goals or SDGs: 1 [Poverty], 2 [Food Security], 3 [Health] and 15 [Terrestrial Environments], using Peru as a case-study country.

My research interests are:

  • Sustainable Development in the Global South
  • Interactions between poverty, food security, health and environmental conservation outcomes.
