- Profile
-
Having qualified in 1989 I followed a career in Anaesthesia becoming a Consultant at Barts Hospital Trust in 1999 and this was followed by the additional responsibility of being Deputy Medical Director of The London Hyperbaric Medicine Centre in 2000.
In 2014, having decided on a career direction change, I became a Clinical Skills Educator at The University of Sheffield and developed an academic medical education role with a focus on clinical skills and simulation. I completed the PGCert in Medical Education in 2016 and an MEd in 2019.
Within the University of Sheffield I have helped develop simulation teaching and presented work at ASME and The Yorkshire & Humber Clinical Skills network. I have represented Sheffield Medical School at The UK Clinical Skills Council and represented the Council on the working party of the GMC to develop the clinical skills list released in 2019.
