Magda Bell

I joined the Information Resources Group, based in HEDS, as an Information Officer in 2013 whilst also studying for a Masters in Information Management at the University of Sheffield iSchool, which I completed in 2015. My particular interest was information in a healthcare context and my dissertation concerned the experiences of older hospital patients as disclosed on the Patient Opinion feedback platform, and an evaluation of the platform for that patient group.

Currently, I manage the ScHARR Library Inter-Library Loans and Document Supply services, supporting staff and students to obtain literature required for research and study. Other roles include managing the library’s journal collection, monitoring staff publications for the REF 2020, and covering the library enquiry desk. I’m also involved in the Communications and Marketing Group and contribute to the HEDS and ScHARR news pages and blogs.
