Catherine Grinold

My first role at the University of Sheffield was in May 1995 as Personal Secretary to the Director of Undergraduate Admissions before moving into the role of Personnel Assistant in the Department of Human Resources.

In July 1998 I started working in Division of Population Health and am currently the Section Manager.

My main duties are:

• Managing all departmental and administrative functions & contributing to the strategic planning of the Section.
• Developing, implementing, and maintaining administrative processes and procedures within the Section.
• Participating in key departmental meetings and Away Days.
• Coordinating human resource activities within the section, including recruitment, inductions, SRDS/appraisals, sickness absence and fixed-term contract monitoring.
• Monitoring, forecasting and control of the Section budgets.
• Managing the professional services team within the Section, including mentoring, recruiting, training and SRDS processes.

I currently sit on the following Division Committees:

• DRP Panel (Promotions and Accelerated Increments)
• Estates and Facilities Committee
• Section Managers Group
• Health and Safety Committee
