What is PebblePad?

PebblePad is a ‘learning journey platform’ that is used at the University of Sheffield for a number of purposes, including

  • e-portfolios
  • programme-level reflection
  • degree apprenticeship
  • doctoral development
  • staff accreditation

Using PebblePad as an external member of staff

External staff may be added to PebblePad workspaces (assessment areas) to assess work of students. Management of external staff is undertaken by departments, and any questions about the specifics of your roles and activities should be addressed to your departmental contacts.

When your external account is set up by your department, you should receive an email with login details. Occasionally some workplaces may block automated emails from PebblePad.

If you do not receive these details, check your spam folder. If you have still not received this email digital.learning@sheffield.ac.uk for advice.

Once your account is set up, follow the instructions below on logging into PebblePad.


Accessing PebblePad as a graduate

PebblePad allows you to create a free personal account when you complete your studies, or leave the University. Files you have created in your University account can be linked to this new account.

You should have created your alumni account before your University username and password has expired (before you graduate if you are a student, or before you leave if you are a member of staff).

If you need to access your material, and your University username and password have already expired, contact the Digital Learning Team (digital.learning@sheffield.ac.uk) for advice. It may not be possible in all circumstances.

Once you have your login details, follow the instructions below on logging into PebblePad.

Your material from your alumni account will be accessible in your Resource Store, under a tab labelled University of Sheffield.


Logging in to PebblePad

  1. Visit the PebblePad login page.

  2. Select I have a guest account for PebblePad.

  3. Enter your login details.

Your department should supply further instruction on how to access your activity within PebblePad.
