Henry Royce Institute
The UK's National Centre for Materials Research and Innovation in Advanced Materials
About the Henry Royce Institute
The Henry Royce Institute is the UK's national institute for advanced materials research and innovation. Providing access to world-class research capabilities, infrastructure, expertise, and skills development, Royce works with the UK materials community to develop solutions to national and global challenges.
Royce was established to ensure that the UK remains at the forefront of materials research and exploitation through collaborations with industry and academia, and by providing access for the UK materials community to state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.
Research undertaken at Royce tackles some of the most pressing challenges facing today’s society, from providing energy for future cities to decarbonisation and new recyclable materials. Our materials research facilities and expertise are available to academia and industry alike.
From the emergence of a new hydrogen economy, fusion power and low energy digital devices to breakthroughs in bioelectronics, the transformative potential of materials science touches every aspect of our lives. Royce drives progress and enables collaboration in materials research to solve national challenges and build a sustainable future.
