Conference Topics

All submissions should fall under one of the following conference topics.

  1. Rail-Wheel Contact & Tribology
  2. Electrification, Energy, and Decarbonisation
  3. Structures, Drainage, and Infrastructure
  4. Digitalisation & Change of the Railway

Abstract Submission and Registration

Please complete this form to submit your abstract and register your attendance. The registration fee can be paid here. Please note, the registration form requires a Google account. If this is an issue please email ukrrinsc@sheffield.ac.uk.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

The abstract submission deadline is 9th October 2024. No late submissions will be considered without significant mitigating circumstances.

Submissions should be a minimum of 500 words, with a maximum of 1000 words. Further guidance can be found in the submission template.

All submissions will be considered for a presentation unless specifically indicated otherwise during registration and submission.

Poster Guidelines

All delegates will be expected to produce and present a poster during their specified time slot. Please see below for further details.

Poster specifications

  • Size: A1
  • Orientation: Portrait
  • Velcro dots will be provided

Ahead of the conference:

  • Posters should be brought to the poster area for a full-day display. There are no large format printing facilities at the venue.

During the conference:

  • Posters are displayed 0900 – 1700, with two dedicated poster viewing sessions per day
  • Presenters should make themselves available during these sessions to discuss and network with other researchers
  • Any posters left after the conclusion of each day will be removed and destroyed
