I am the Programme Director for the EMHP and EMHP Supervisor courses, both of which are central parts of the Children and Young People's Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme. I joined the EMHP teaching team in 2021 and have led the courses since 2022. I am a HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist and have worked within a variety of care settings providing specialist psychological assessments and interventions across a range of ages. I am interested in the challenges of psychological training programmes and have recently researched how to support the wellbeing of trainees; this formed part of my successful application to Senior Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (2025). I am a member of the Children and Young People’s Psychological Training Committee; British Psychological Society.

I teach on both EMHP and EMHP Supervisor courses providing lectures to both cohorts, alongside specialist Tutor Group teaching: Clinical Skills (EMHPs) and Supervision of Supervision (EMHP Supervisor Courses). My teaching focusses on:
- Children and Young people's mental health and wellbeing
- LICBT interventions for children and young people
- Whole school approaches to early intervention and prevention
- Mental health in education settings
- Supervision of EMHP practice
- Principles of Supervision
- Professional, Ethical and Inclusive practice

As Programme Director, I am responsible for the development and provision of both postgraduate level EMHP training programmes; organising and implementing long-term strategic planning and development of training. I ensure that the objectives of the programme meet the standards required by the BPS accreditation criteria and align with both nationally set curriculums. My role involves representing the programme at local and national meetings, contributing to ongoing projects and developments and also maintaining relationships with key stakeholders including commissioners, NHS managers and working in partnership with other Higher Education Institutions. I am committed to programme development in relation to Equality, Diversity & Inclusion, Expert by experience involvement and diversifying the workforce via recruitment and curriculum.
I am a member of the Children and Young People’s Psychological Training Committee; British Psychological Society, contributing to the national strategy of Children and Young People's workforce development.
