University of Sheffield to host prestigious international cognitive psychology conference

The University of Sheffield is set to welcome academics, researchers, students and industry partners from the public and private sector from across the globe as it hosts the 24th biennial conference of the European Society for Cognitive Psychology.

ESCOP is the premier organisation dedicated to advancing research in cognitive psychology throughout Europe and beyond. Its conferences are vital for fostering collaboration among researchers investigating all facets of human cognition, including perception, memory, language, reasoning, development, decision-making and neuroscience.

The 2025 conference in Sheffield will bring together scholars from around the world to present their latest cutting-edge research and engage in critical discussions on cognitive science. This event is not only a platform for showcasing new findings but also a valuable opportunity for networking, professional development, and interdisciplinary exchange.

Keynote speakers include:

  • Professor Ruth Byrne: Professor of Cognitive Science, Psychology, and Trinity Institute of Neurosciences, University of Dublin.
  • Dr. Ven Popov: Senior Scientist, Department of Psychology, Universität Zürich.
  • Professor Gaia Scerif: Professor of Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience, Department of Experimental Psychology, University of Oxford.
  • Professor Sylvie Belleville: Professor in Psychology, Université de Montreal, and Research Director of the Institut Universitaire de Gériatrie de Montréal.

Over five days attendees will  attend talks, posters, discussions, and lectures on a wide variety of topics across the discipline. There will also be several workshops available and opportunities for delegates to explore Sheffield and the surrounding areas.
