Meet and Greet service: September 2024

Overview

The service is offered to all new international students.

Coaches will take students from Manchester Airport to the University campus area in Sheffield. There will be two coach departures from Manchester Airport each day, at 11am and 3pm.  

When allocating your coach time we allow two hours for collection of baggage and clearing immigration, so we are unable to accept bookings for students whose flights are scheduled to arrive in Manchester after 1pm local time.

What will happen on the day

Students will be met at Manchester Airport and accompanied to Sheffield by members of our student Global Campus Ambassador team.

When booking the service, you will be asked for details of your accommodation in Sheffield. Where possible, we will take you to your residence or nearby.

Bookings close at midnight on Monday 9 September.

Cost

The cost of the service is £25 for students and £30 for any family members or friends who may be accompanying you. You will need to make a separate booking for each person accompanying you. 

Luggage

Luggage space on the coaches is limited, so where possible we ask that you restrict your luggage to two items in addition to your cabin bag.

We will do our best to accommodate all reasonable luggage requests. If you're bringing more than two pieces of luggage, contact us at globalcampus@sheffield.ac.uk.
